The Father's Heart Ministries - Mark 11:17 A house of prayer for all nations
About Us
We are Roy Honjo and Angie Akana-Honjo, who currently live in Honolulu, Hawaii and Lynn Haven, Florida.

Roy has been in the hotel business for over 33 years, since 1975.  He has managed luxury hotels in Hawaii, Australia and New Zealand.  Roy recently ended his employment with Sprint Telecommunications in Panama City, Florida in 2009.  He now works for Heald College as an Admissions Advisor in Honolulu, Hawaii
.
Angie has been in the medical administration field for over 20 years.  Angie currently works for Gulf Coast Medical, in Lynn Haven Florida,  in the billing department.

The both of us are saved and give glory to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The ministry began like this...

For some reason and unknown to Angie at the time, she always had a heart for Africa.  She was always drawn to pray for the women and children who were suffering from abuse and low self esteem,  something that Angie has experienced and knew much about.  Several years ago, Angie was invited to Kenya to speak at a Women's and Youth Conference by our mentors Boyd and Marrie Dennis whose ministry is named My Father's House.  Angie went by herself that first year and came back to Hawaii totally transformed and dedicated to the mission fields of Africa.  When Angie asked Roy to accompany her the next year, his reply was, "You're crazy!  God hasn't called me to go to Kenya, let alone do missionary work.  The Lord has to speak to me clearly and give me the purpose for my going there."  And the Lord did just that!  That was the small beginnings of The Father's Heart Ministries.

The name, The Father's Heart, was not decided upon for several years until it was confirmed through a Word of Prophecy.  The Father's Heart Ministries exists to communicate in word and deed to the people of Africa just how valuable they are to their Father in Heaven.  Our ministry is committed to delivering the Word of God to encourage and strengthen the people of Africa as well as to demonstrate the love of God for them by meeting physical needs as we are able. As a result, St. Angies Education Center was started with 12 children.  Over the years, that number has grown to as much as 175 students.  The name was changed to The Fathers Heart Ministries Education Center in September 2009.

In June 2007, a team of 11 missionaries spent from two weeks to a month ministering to various schools, orphanages and churches in Kenya.  It was a time of growing, learning from  our mistakes and confirming relationships with people who had vital roles to play in the ministry.  Our ministry is in its infancy but we know that God has a plan for us and he has chosen you to be a part of that plan.   The Word says, "the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few....."

We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and have you become a partner in helping us change lives, one child at a time.

Pray and hear how the Lord wants you to partner with us.  Our God is a big God and he hears the heart of all people.

Ministry Fun Day outreach for the neighborhood children at Bungoma Baptist Church, Bungoma Town.  Even the adults had fun!  Many of the adults themselves grew up not having a childhood of their own.

A future goal of The Father's Heart Ministries is to build an orphanage complex on the recently purchased land parcel similar to that of Seed of Hope Orphanage. The 3-bedroom house in the background houses 15 to 20 kids and a parent couple (foster parents to the orphans).  It is a win-win situation.  The kids get loving parents and the parent couple get to live in the house rent free.  The parent couple share meal preparing duties with the other parents couples.  The children do daily chores such as cleaning, tending to the garden, cleaning their rooms and other small tasks that they can help with.
