Angie's Blog John 14:27 "Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." In recent times of worry and stress about so many things, I find my heart worried, anxious, stressed about how the school in Kenya will survive, who will feed the children, what will happen to the teachers, how is my son doing so far away, what if my daughter ends up fighting the war in Afghanistan....on and on and on.... Maybe some of you are experiencing troubled times. LET NOT - it's a decision that requires action - Let not your heart be troubled or afraid. This is our word from the Lord. I am sure Jesus was troubled on the eve of His crucifixion. This is when he gave this command to His disciples. Yet He begins by saying, "Peace I leave with you; My own peace I now give to you." In the midst of his own struggle, He had hold of His peace and He gave it to His disciples - that's US!! Peace seems impossible at times when we are facing sorrow, death, disaster, disease, lack of resources, and uncertainty. How do we stay in peace when everything seems out of control? Hallelujah! The Gospel is good news. It is all about peace! Peace on earth was declared when Jesus was born and we are promised peace in Jesus (John 16:33) In Jesus, we can have peace in our circumstances. No matter what things seem like we can look higher. "May the Lord of peace Himself continually grant you peace IN every circumstance." Thessalonians 3:16 I claim peace in my circumstance in Jesus name! God desires that His children live free of worry. "Be anxious for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus". Philippians 4:6-7 As we spend time in prayer, taking our concerns to Him, we OBTAIN peace! Peace does not come from what we do or how we feel, but by Jesus alone - by spending time at the feet of our Master! Ps 16:11 In Your presence is FULLNESS of joy!" He calls to His people even now to "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest (I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls)." Matthew 11:28 Let us all say in Jesus name Oh my soul rejoice! I take hold of my peace that you have given to me Father. I declare that I will be anxious for nothing, but I will bring my requests to you WITH thanksgiving for you will give me the peace that passes all of my understanding. I declare peace in my heart, peace in my home, peace in my ministry, peace in my country, peace between my family members, in Jesus name and I thank you Lord for your grace and mercy. I thank you Jesus that you came that I might have life and have it more abundantly. I refuse to allow the enemy to steal my joy or my peace but I declare that the joy of the Lord is my strength. In Jesus name amen. Now just allow the Holy Spirit to minister to you, to speak quietly to you and to sooth your souls. In the matchless name of Jesus.... TESTIMONY: from Rwanda, Africa I have been praying for you and your family that God may intervene in your situation,I know that God is faithful and soon we will hear great testimony.God has performed miracles in response to our prayers,as I had indicated to you the community I minister to is so impoverished and what has enabled me to stay with them is the grace of God and obedience to the calling of God.God has used people who have visited the area and recieved the burden then promised to stand with us,so many of those who have visited with us have left with a burden. We are still waiting for the many promises that God has given to us as he has been speaking to me on many things that He wants to accomplish in the area.I am not in any way discouraged by the challenges faced in ministry, our faith is still so strong, we have already finished the roofing something we didnt think would happen so fast,I know it is the fulfilment of the vision that God gave to me.I thank God who joined us,you have been of great encouragement to my ministry and indication that God has got great plans for joining us together.Keep me in prayers as we trust in God for the finishings, the doors and the windows that the Lord will miraculously provide. The government has given churches standard building they expect for churches and we trust God to keep to this,we know that he will help us.We have been doing alot of preaching and the harvest is so plentiful. Thank God that we at last have a place to take care of the harvest.Tomorrow I will visit the second church I started for baptism of 16 new believers, on the 21st of June we had baptism in my church and we baptized 33 new believers.God is really bringing in the harvest. Faces of The Fathers Heart Ministries Education Center (formerly St. Angies Education Center) Profile on School Headmaster - Dominic Telewa My name is Dominic Telewa. I was born in 1969 in a family of six in Bungoma District in Kenya. Being a first born, I was entrusted with the responsibility of looking after my three brothers and two sisters whenever my parents left daily as laborers on the white man's land. I remember we used to have a single meal a day prepared at dusk by my mother. The whole day we used to hunt for birds and search for wild berries whenever we fell hungry as we waited for our parents to return home. Both of my parents are alive and aged. We are all grown up. I am married with four children. My wife, Carolyne Nekesa Telewa, who was born at Mt. Elgon District is an understanding and supportive woman. She was born in 1976 and attended her primary and secondary education successfully. Betty is our first born child. She is 10 years old and in Standard Five in an academy. Bobline is a boy and in Standard Two at St. Angies Education Center. He is 8 years old and George, now 5 years old, is in Pre-School at St. Angies as well. He does very well in class. He was in position #2 last term. Our little girl, Carren is 3 years old and has not started school yet. My wife, therefore is a housewife preparing meals during the day. I underwent both primary and secondary education successfully in 1989 and trained in the insurance industry as a Sales Representative in 1990. I worked with Blue Shield Insurance Company for a short time before shifting to Green Belt Movement in 1992 to 1994. In 1995 I worked with Kenya Seed Company as a casual laborer before entering a lifelong profession of teaching. I started as an untrained teacher in 1996 and later joined a teacher training college for a primary 1 (P1) course which took two years and qualified. After more training I received my Diploma in Education that advanced my professionalcareer. I am currently heading St. Angies Education Center as an Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) mainly due to HIV and AIDS and natural attrition. I also attended several other induction workshops pertaining to my teaching profession. I was saved in 1987 in a Crusade on my way from school. Prior to this, I had a vision in a dream. In the vision I was dressed in a long priestly robe, given a staff in one hand, ordained and sent forth running. At that time I did not understand the vision. Later in the year 2000, by the Grace of God, I was ordained and comissioned as a pastor. Currently I am pastoring a church in Kobos Centre which is 20 km from Kitale town. I find peace in my calling as a pastor and an apostle of our Lord Jesus Christ who has given me the gift of healing. My innermost passion flows to the orphans and vulnerable young children who have no guider. I remember one day I was absorbed in my prayers for the orphans and the little street children sleeping in the cold without food to eat or water to drink. I told God, "if you will one day visit me, I will return to these fatherless children and be their father." The faithful and merciful God has set forth the Honjos as salt and light in the midst of the innocent, defenseless, poor and need handsome and beautiful boys and girls respectively (see what Jesus says in Matthew 5:13-14). One thing that I am amazed with salt is that even in its small quantity, it preserves food and gives it taste. It is also medicinal. I am marveled with light because even a dim light can never be overcome by darkness and it gives hope. There is hope and meaning in lives of St. Angies Education Center children. My sincere and heartfelt thanks to Brother Roy Honjo and Sister Angie Honjo of The Father's Heart Ministries, whose great vision and passion oiled St. Angies Education Center now with 122 children. As the Headmaster of this center I fell entrusted by Christ to look after his least ones (Matthew 25: 37-40). In John 21: 15-17, Jesus asked Simon Peter, "Do you love me?" Each time when Simon Peter replied that he did love Jesus, Jesus told him to "feed my lamb....tend to my sheep... then feed my sheep. I have discovered that the things of God touches the heart and there it sinks. When an infant, orphaned and malnourished little girl in a tattered red cloth passed before me, I was touched and tears rolled down my cheeks. The Lord did not give me rest until I offered to give her food to eat, water to drink, cloth to cover her nakedness and school supplies. This is true and I give testimony in the church the following Sunday. It was the beginning of an epic journey. A journey of faith....St. Angies journey. I know the Lord has called me into this Ministry....a ministry of passion. My vision over St. Angies Education Center. This center should grow to more than just a Primary School but also to High Schoolas well as a technical institution. By the will of God, may the buildings be put up and supplies be met as we are encouraged in Habbakuk 2: 1-3. The fear of God is the beginning of Knowledge and a child mis-educated is a child lost. May we who have taken the responsibilities of these orphans and vulnerable children be a light and salt in their lives for the Glory of God the Father of All.....Amen!
